Problem: After powering on, the LED strip shows no response at all, or only a certain section lights up while the rest remains dark. Common causes include: cutting at the wrong position (cutting outside the marked cutting points, which breaks the circuit), reversing the positive and negative wires, cold solder joints or damage during transportation/installation, and faulty power supply or controller.
Solutions:
- When cutting, always locate the scissor icon or scale marks on the strip and cut only at those designated points.
- When connecting the power supply, double-check the “+” and “–” markings and ensure they are matched correctly.
- Verify that the power output is normal; the power supply rating should be ≥ the total strip wattage × 1.3. Also check whether the controller is functioning.
- For partial non‑lighting, cut out the damaged section and reconnect the remaining segments using dedicated connectors.
Optimized Layout Methods:
- Power distribution: For strips longer than 5 meters, supply power from both ends to avoid voltage drop that can cause dimming or failure at the far end.
- Driver placement: Install the driver in a well‑ventilated area that is easy to access for maintenance (e.g., near a ceiling access panel), and keep it away from heat sources.
- Connection points: Leave sufficient cable length at all joints to allow easy resoldering or replacement of connectors when needed.
